Managing Your Dairy Farm Footprint

In this course you will learn to:

• Explore the environmental impacts of dairy farming in New Zealand.
• Understand the rules, the market expectations, and choices around managing your farm footprint.
• Explore practical, cost-effective ways to reduce your farm’s environmental footprint.
• Create a 2–5 year plan to put eco-friendly changes into action, using the latest science and balancing environmental and business goals.

Course details

Four in-person workshops held between milkings. Small class sizes with limited numbers.

Qualification: Earn the Managing Your Dairy Farm Footprint Micro-credential (Level 5, 15 NZQA credits).

Course requirements 

To be eligible for this course, you must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand resident or work visa that allows you to study in New Zealand.

You will be required to complete an assessment to demonstrate your learning.

You must bring a laptop (ideally) or device to course days to access course materials, editable documents, and assessments.
