Fundamentals Of Animal Health Stockmanship - Dairy Training Limited

Gain foundational knowledge for safe livestock handling and the skills to identify, report, and assist in the treatment of common health issues in dairy cows.

In this course you will learn to:

  • Identify signs and symptoms of healthy and unhealthy cows.
  • Understand the why and how of on-farm reporting systems.
  • Handle cows safely and confidently by practising moving, sorting, and weighing them.
  • Understand cow senses and cow flow.

Course details

Four in-person workshops held between milkings. Small class sizes with limited numbers.

Qualification: Earn the Fundamentals of Animal Health and Stockmanship in the Dairy Industry Micro-credential (Level 3, 15 NZQA credits).

Course requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a NZ resident visa. 

You will be required to complete an assessment to demonstrate your learning. 

You must bring a laptop (ideally) or device to course days to access course materials, editable documents, and assessments.
