In this course you will learn

You’ll gain practical skills and knowledge to:

  • Prepare and operate the farm dairy safely and correctly.
  • Perform milking routines using calm, best-practice techniques.
  • Identify milking issues and respond to protect cow health and milk quality.
  • Apply plant hygiene and risk management practices

Course details

Four in-person workshops, held between milkings, small class sizes with limited numbers. 

Earn the “Fundamentals of the Milking Process (Micro-credential)” Level 3, 15 NZQA credits.

Course requirements

To be eligible for this course, you must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand resident or work visa that allows you to study in New Zealand.

You will be required to complete an assessment to demonstrate your learning. 

You must bring a laptop (ideally) or device to course days to access course materials, editable documents, and assessments.
